Woman kills man with lover’s help, dumps body in septic tank
The suspects have been identified as Neetu and Harpal.
It took police 14 days to recover the body, which has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
The deceased, Satish, lived with his wife Neetu and their 5-year-old child in Greater Noida West.
Neetu confessed that Harpal, who worked as a mason, was hired to work at her home two years ago, during which they had an affair and kept in touch even after he returned to his home in Etah.
She said Satish started physically attacking her when he learned about her illicit relationship and stopped her from leaving the house.
Meanwhile, Harpal was rehired for work at a house nearby. Fed up with her husband, she conspired with Harpal to kill him and included his friend identified as Gaurav in the scheme.
She claimed that Rs 20,000 and gold items were given to Gaurav for it.
On 2 January, Harpal, Satish and Gaurav sat down to drink, with the lover serving him a drink containing an intoxicant.
Neetu revealed that she, along with Harpal, strangled Satish when he lost consciousness.
She added that they threw his body into the septic tank of the house under construction nearby.
When Satish’s relatives inquired about his whereabouts, Neetu confessed that she lied to them that he had gone somewhere without telling her.
The family members then reported the missing person to the police.
Additional DCP Vishal Pandey said police reached Satish’s house after the complaint was registered, where neighbors told them about the suspect’s affair.
He said the pair confessed to the crime when they were rigorously questioned.
While the couple is arrested, Gaurav is searched for.
