Stimulus Update: Massachusetts Is Issuing One-time Tax Refunds

Eligible Massachusetts taxpayers will get a one-time tax refund equal to 14% of their state personal income tax liability by the middle of December.

The one-time tax refund is feasible because to the $2.94 billion in excess of the Massachusetts state revenue cap. The amount a resident receives depends on their tax status.

If you paid Massachusetts personal income taxes in 2021 and filed your Massachusetts tax return before September 15, 2023, You are eligible for the tax refund.

The 2022 tax refund programme in Massachusetts is different from other state "stimulus" programmes since taxpayers will receive varying amounts.

Massachusetts will mail a check or direct deposit 14% of each eligible taxpayer's 2021 state income tax liability.

If you haven't filed your Massachusetts return, you still can. You can still get a 2022 Massachusetts tax refund if you file before September 15, 2023.

According to CBS Boston, payments have already been made to hundreds of thousands of residents.

The tax rebate was triggered by the state's Chapter 62F revenue cap, which has only been used once since 1986.

Residents of the state who are eligible can go online to the state's website to find out how much money they will receive.
