Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: How to Check IVs

If there's one thing that's important when it comes to training Pokemon, it's knowing a Pokemon's IVs.

Individual Values, which are written as "IVs," show how good a Pokemon could be. A Pokemon will have a certain number of IVs between 0 and 31 for each stat.

The more IVs a Pokemon has, the better its stats are. Most of the time, players look for Pokemon with perfect IVs, which means that all six stats have 31 IVs.

However, it's possible that they'll also want a particular stat to have zero IVs, depending on the approach they take.

No matter what, you have to know how to check a Pokemon's IVs if you want to build the best team and train for the competitive scene.

When the game starts, you can't see a Pokemon's IVs. The player can only use the IV checker after beating the Elite Four and becoming the Paldea Region Champion.

To check a Pokemon's IVs, pause the game and open Pokemon Boxes. Then they can move their mouse over a Pokemon and tap + Judge to view it.

Since these values are made up by chance, it's unlikely that a Pokemon caught in the wild will have great stats.

Participating in high-star-rated Tera Raid battles is the easiest way to get a Pokemon with great IVs.
