'The White Lotus' Season 2 Finale: What Happened and Who Died?

The White Lotus season 2 conclusion on Sunday closed up some loose ends and announced who on the hit HBO series will not live to see another year.

A weeklong journey to Sicily is definitely a trip to die for, as a beloved character discovered on Sunday's White Lotus season 2 finale.

Fans of the HBO series were shocked to find that Jennifer Coolidge's Tanya had died after only two seasons.

Despite a flood of social media forecasts, creator Mike White's climactic yacht slaughter and Tanya's seemingly avoidable, accidental death managed to surprise.

The finale rejoined Tanya when Quentin (Tom Hollander) and his "high-end gays" gave her a party at his Palermo palazzo and set her up with Italian stallion/mafia scion Niccol (Stefano Gianino).

Portia (Haley Lu Richardson), her assistant, awoke in a hotel with Quentin's supposed — but hopefully not! ― Jack, Jack's nephew (Leo Woodall).

Portia was sceptical of Jack after his inebriated comments about Quentin's financial problems, and she couldn't find her phone.

Quentin saw Tanya gazing at the photo she found the night before, which appeared to show him and her dubious husband Greg (Jon Gries) as young guys.

Quentin made up a story about a guy named Steve, despite the fact that she swore it looked exactly like Greg.

Tanya, still sceptical but unable to discover the truth, boarded Quentin's boat with his buddies to return to Taormina.
