3 Skywatching Events You Don’t Want To Miss In December 2022

Skywatchers have at least a few exciting events to look forward to each and every month.

As we approach the end of the year, here are three amazing December 2022 skywatching events you won't want to miss.

December is shaping up to be an exciting month for aficionados of space and everything it has to offer, with the success of the Artemis I mission looming on the horizon.

One of the most basic ways to enjoy space is to take advantage of the different celestial events that can occur each month.

In December of 2022, there are a number of exciting events to look forward to, including occultations and full moons.

One of the most intriguing skywatching events this December is the Moon's occultation of Mars.

This will occur on December 7, and the Moon will totally hide Mars for those outside of the east and southeast.

Skywatching on December 7 will also include the full moon of the month, which many people look forward to each year.

Of course, if you're hoping for some great December 2022 skywatching events, keep your eyes peeled from December 25 to December 31.

As the year comes to a close, observers can expect to see the Moon pass by Saturn on December 26 and Jupiter on December 28.
