Ocean 11’s remake starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie begins filming in March

The upcoming Ocean’s Eleven, supposedly a prequel starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, has a launch date set by Warner Bros. Discovery. The prequel is actually a remake of the 1960 film Ocean’s 11, the first in the series, according to a statement on the official Film & Television Industry Alliance website.

We originally heard about the Ocean’s Eleven prequel, starring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, from Warner Bros. in May last year. According to reports, the film’s director, Jay Roach of Bombshell, had been chosen to lead the charge. Carrie Solomon wrote the screenplay, set in Europe in the 1960s. Later, in August 2022, we learned that Gosling had joined the cast. The names of all previously rumored cast and staff members have been confirmed in the latest project announcement. Additionally, the project profile states, “Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie appear in a remake of the original Ocean’s Eleven, set in 1960s Europe.”

Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. played World War II veterans teaming up to loot five Las Vegas casinos in one night in the 1960 photo that launched the series. It seems that Warner Bros. Discovery is aiming to revive the film series in addition to making a prequel, as it did with the 2001 blockbuster starring Clooney and Pitt. Of course, there’s still a possibility that the approaching Ocean’s Eleven will fill both roles at the same time; it can duplicate the original 1960s movie and act as a prequel to more current movies.

A successful trilogy featuring Clooney, Pitt and an all-star cast was created by the 2001 film Ocean’s Eleven. Sandra Bullock played Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney’s original burglar Danny Ocean, and the team was led by Sandra Bullock in Ocean’s Eight, which more than a decade after the release of 2007’s Ocean’s Thirteen was released by Warner Bros. Warner Bros. Discovery takes the brand in a completely different direction because the resurrection was a financial flop. While little information is available on the Ocean’s Eleven prequel/remake yet, it won’t be long now, as production begins on March 6.

When is Ocean’s Eleven Remake coming to theaters?

The new Ocean’s Eleven is being kept secret and Warner Bros. Discovery has not yet announced a possible release date. Nevertheless, given that production on the film begins in March, we shouldn’t expect to see it before the summer of 2024. Depending on the post-production requirements of the project, even later.
