Great Pottery Throw 2023
Last Sunday we witnessed 12 of Britain’s top amateur potters compete in the ultimate kiln challenge to win over judges Rich Miller and Keith Brymer Jones. With McSweeney back, viewers can expect just as much ceramic drama as before, with the competitors taking on challenges such as building handleless milk jugs and a birthday tea set.]

Where is The Great Pottery Throw-Down filmed?
Filming for The Great Pottery Throw Down will take place in the village of Stoke-on-Longton Trent in 2023 at the Gladstone Pottery Museum. The monumental 18th-century building has housed a museum since 1974.
The land, initially purchased and developed by the Shelley brothers, Michael and Thomas, was later purchased by a family believed to have given the site its current name. Gladstone was chosen in tribute to the head of state as the deal is believed to have been completed when William Gladstone was Prime Minister.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council currently oversees the site. According to Stoke-on-Trent Live, the council plans to use the site for more future film and television projects. The Great Pottery Throw Down and Clarice Cliff’s biography The Color Room, featuring Phoebe Dynevor of Bridgerton, was filmed at the exact location. It has also served as the setting for Most Haunted, Blue Peter and Doctor Who in recent decades.
Can we visit The Great Pottery Throw Down filming location?
You can see the actual shooting location of The Great Pottery Throw Down after the Gladstone Museum reopens on Saturday, April 1, 2023.
The museum would close from the end of October to the end of March due to seasonal opening hours.
Visitors can view the website from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A child ticket costs £5.40, an adult ticket costs £7.75. While there are other family-friendly and economical choices, an annual membership is also an option if you live in the area and anticipate frequent travel.
What time is the big pottery throw?
The first episode of series 6 will air on Sunday 8 January at 7.45pm, according to a confirmation from Channel 4. There will be ten episodes, with one airing each Sunday.
If that’s not enough to make you happy, Love Productions recently announced that the show is on order until at least 2024 and HBO Max will air it in the US.
