Hawkeye, a character played by Marvel actor Jeremy Renner in several films and television shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, suffered significant injuries in snowstorms over the New Year’s holiday weekend.
According to Renner’s agent:
We can report that Jeremy, who was injured in a weather-related accident earlier today while clearing snow, is in critical but stable condition. He is well cared for and has his family by his side.
Renner owns a home in Nevada, and hundreds of people lost power over the weekend in the county where his home is located due to heavy snowfall, but the exact nature and location of the accident have not yet been confirmed.
One of the original six Avengers from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Renner is best known for that role. He initially made his Hawkeye cameo appearance in the 2011 film Thor. Renner played Hawkeye in Captain America: Civil War, the Hawkeye and What If…? TV series on Disney+, in addition to the four Avengers movies.
He was nominated for two Academy Awards: one for his groundbreaking performance in The Hurt Locker in 2009 and the other for the 2011 crime film The Town.
