Chris Rock: Selective Outrage release date confirmed by Netflix
Comedian Chris Rock joins Netflix in a historic first. Last year, the 57-year-old made headlines after Will Smith slapped him when he hosted the Oscars.
Rock’s career is thriving and has received much love and support in the wake of Smith’s disrespectful actions. He is willing to participate in the first-ever “live-streamed global event” on Netflix.
On March 4, 2023, at approximately 10pm ET, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage will begin streaming live. Live video is broadcast from Baltimore, Maryland. There will be more information about the event.
Robbie Praw, vice president of stand-up and comedy formats at Netflix, raved about Chris Rock. He stated, “Chris Rock is one of the most recognizable and meaningful comedic voices of our generation. We are thrilled that Chris Rock is going to do a live comedy show for the whole world and that it will go down in Netflix history.
Additionally, he said: “This will be a momentous occasion and we are so thankful for Chris to carry this flame.
Feedback on trailer
Chris Rock will be performing live soon and a trailer for the event was made available yesterday. In it, he can be seen taking the stage while energetic music plays in the background.
Most of the comments came from enthusiastic viewers looking forward to the show. “Watched his act in September in Amsterdam where he talked about the blow,” said one person. The performance was excellent. I’m surprised it took so long to shoot and edit the show, but I can’t wait to see it again.
Another user laughed off the joke, writing, “This time Chris Rock will take the stage and throw the punch.” “Chris, you should get Will Smith a Christmas present,” said another person in reference to the spanking. While he ended his, he gave life to your career.
What happened at the Oscars?
At the 2022 Oscars, Chris Rock made a joke about Will Smith’s wife’s hair. To everyone’s shock, Will Smith got up, made his way to the stage and punched Chris Rock. In addition, he yelled at him not to say “my wife’s name.”
Afterward, Will Smith was mocked online and lost numerous lucrative deals, but Chris Rock won audience sympathy and his performances sold out. Even his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who had nothing to do with the case, was brutally implicated.
Will Smith recently spoke out on the matter and apologized in front of Chris Rock and his supporters. Later, Chris Rock addressed the video during one of his shows, calling the apology a “hostage video”, which he dismissed as such.
In addition, he joked about the incident while acknowledging that it had hurt. He played Ali. Even playing Floyd Mayweather is beyond me.
The Oscar clap section has become a humorous addition to his performances. In addition, he made mention of it on other occasions, once claiming that Will Smith hit him for the “nicest joke” he’d ever made.
