On January 2, South Korea required all arrivals from China to undergo a PCR test within the first day of entering the country.

Anyone who tests positive for the virus must be quarantined for a week.

South Korea has also made it mandatory for people from Hong Kong and Macao to undergo a PCR or an antigen test before boarding their flight.

As of December 30, 2022, Japan has made it mandatory for individuals traveling from China to be tested for Covid-19 upon arrival.
